Going with car
Travelling to Alingsås with a car you will most likely approach Alingsås either from north-east on the E20 from Stockholm towards Gothenburg or the other way around from the west coast towards Stockholm. Arriving from United Kingdom you can travel with the DFDS ferries directly from Newcastle to Gothenburg. From Denmark/Germany/western Europe you can either go on bridges through Denmark and further to Sweden or with ferries from various locations in Denmark to Sweden or even directly from Kiel in Germany to Gothenburg. The fastest route from Germany to Alingsås by car, is to use the ferry between Puttgarden (Germany) and Rödby (Denmark) and then from Helsingör (Denmark) to Helsingborg (Sweden). Then just follow the E20 from Helsingborg via Gothenburg to Alingsås. There are also ferries from Poland, Estonia and Finland to Sweden if you arrive from eastern Europe. These alternatives may bring you to the Stockholm area where you can choose to follow the E20 towards Gothenburg. When arriving from Poland with a ferry it is preferred to travel along the west coast of Sweden passing Helsingborg & Gothenburg before arriving in Alingsås.
